“Members of the Save UTMC Citizens Group spoke of hope and progress during a town hall meeting on Saturday.

The town hall held at South Toledo’s Park Congregational Church at 1456 Harvard Blvd., Toledo, was filled with community members eager to learn of updates regarding the coalition’s fight to sustain the University of Toledo Medical Center.

During a meeting in February, former Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner, the group organizer, said a critical problem is that the clinical teaching faculty moved with students and residents from UTMC to ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He added that the process has depleted the number of physicians admitting patients to UTMC, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital.”
